During the event, the B 42 between Rüdesheim and Lahnstein and the B 9 between Bingerbrück and Koblenz-Stolzenfels were closed to motor traffic. The blockage took place between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. (until 2013: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.). During this time, both roads were only available to non-motorized traffic.

The event was organized by the tourism community in the Loreley valley in St. Goar . A similar major event took place along the Moselle valley with Happy Mosel until 2017 .

At the end of 2019, the tourism community decided to end Tal Total.
