The dam Kwai Noi Bumrung Dan is a dam with hydroelectric power plant in the district Wat Bot , Province Phitsanulok , Thailand . It dams the Khwae Noi to a reservoir.

The dam is used for flood protection, irrigation and electricity generation. Construction began in 2004; it was completed in 2009. The dam is owned by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and is also operated by EGAT.

Barrier structure

The barrier structure is a CFR dam with a height of 75 m. The length of the dam crest is 681 m. To the right of the main dam there is a secondary dam. The flood relief is located between the two dams .

Reservoir

At the normal storage target of 130 m above sea level , the reservoir holds 769 (or 912 or 939) million m³ of water. The minimum congestion destination is 90 m.

power plant

The installed capacity of the power plant with two turbines is 30  MW . The annual production is 146.6 million kWh . The machine house is located below the secondary embankment.
