Tamara Frederick (born August 15, 1989 ) is an American short tracker .
She was initially active in figure skating , but switched to the short track as a junior. She has been part of the US national team since 2010. In her first season she only started in continental competitions. She made her breakthrough in the 2011/12 season . In December she made her debut in Nagoya in the World Cup. In her first season she reached the quarter-finals once over 500 m and 1000 m and twice in the semi-finals over 1500 m. In Moscow and Dordrecht , she was also second in the season and reached her first World Cup podium. She celebrated her greatest sporting success to date at the World Championships in Shanghai , where she won the silver medal in the relay.
Frederick studied at Northern Michigan University . She trains at the Marquette Performance Center .
