The Tamelrik Plateau (also known as the Tamelrik Mountains ) is a plateau in the southern Algerian province of Illizi .

The Tamelrik Plateau, made up mainly of Paleozoic sandstones, is located in the northern part of the Tassili n'Ajjer Mountains. With an area of about 3200 km² it shows a general gradient to the north. The highest peaks are in the south at a maximum of 1500 m above sea level. Towards the north, the plateau gradually drops to about 550 m. The plateau extends over about 65 km in the west-east direction, the north-south extent is around 60 km. The provincial capital Illizi is northeast of the plateau.

In the north, the Tamelrik plateau is bounded by Erg Issaouane . The border to the Fadnoun plateau to the east forms the dry valley of the Oued Tadjeradjeri . To the south there are steep drops in landscapes up to 400 meters lower. To the west, the foothills of the Tassili n'Ajjer Mountains continue towards Erg TIFFENINE .

The plateau is criss-crossed by numerous dry valleys, some of them gorge-like, deepened up to 350 meters, all of which drain to the north; from west to east these are Oued Samene, Oued Inakfane and Oued Tadjeradjeri.

The hostile plateau is completely uninhabited. Some very small settlements, such as Hassi Tabankort Tan Taressa, are only to be found south of the plateau demolition and in Oued Tadjeradjeri.

About 100 relics of Neolithic cultures can be found scattered in the cuttings of the dry valleys, mainly barrows (tumulus), but also several so-called keyhole graves.
