The Tammann Peaks are mountains on the Loubet coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . They rise 6 km southeast of Orford cliff and just as far east of Lallemand Fjord .
Aerial photographs of the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition (1956–1957) were used to map them. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the German chemist Gustav Tammann (1861–1938), who had studied the physical properties of ice .
