Tammy Tiehel , real name Tamara "Tammy" Stedman (born June 18, 1964 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American film producer and manager in the film sector, who won the 72nd Academy Awards 2000 in the category "Best Short Film" (Live Action) has been awarded an Oscar .

biography

Tammy Tiehel grew up in a suburb of Philadelphia . She did her Bachelor of Arts at Washington College in Chestertown , followed by a Master of Arts from the American Film Institute (AFI) in Los Angeles. She began her career in the early 1990s as a personal assistant and eventually advanced to production manager. Tiehel also worked as a screenwriter for documentaries. In the mid-1990s she moved to Los Angeles to attend the American Film Institute.

Together with Barbara Schock , she was awarded an Oscar in New York for the joint AFI master’s graduation film My Mother Dreams the Satan's Disciples . Tiehel also worked as a casting assistant for Allison Jones and Aisha Coley. After attending AFI, she worked for Kaos Entertainment in Santa Monica and produced short documentaries for TLC and Discovery Channel . In 2001 she moved to the east coast of the USA for professional reasons, where she founded the production company Ridley Park Pictures, LLC in 2003 to produce short films and non-profit videos .

The short drama Touched , released in 2003 and produced by Tiehel, is about two deeply lonely men trying to forge a genuine human bond, and is based on true events in the life of writer and director Mike Lemon. The award-winning short film comedy Suburban Cowboy , produced by Tiehel in 2006 , was created as part of the international film competition "The 48 Hour Film Project" and was shot and edited in less than 48 hours. Tiehel's sister Amy played the female lead in the film, while both youngest sister Tricia wrote the script. In the 2015 published romantic comedy How to be sexy (original title Slow Learners ), which is about self-discovery and the effort to transform yourself into the person you want to be, Tiehel was involved as a producer, while her sister Amy in a smaller role was seen. In the historical short film drama Redcoats , Tammy Tiehel appeared as producer, while Amy Tiehel directed, wrote the script and also took on a minor role.

From 2004 to 2009 Tiehel, who is married to Bill Stedman, devoted herself mainly to her family, especially to the careers of her three children.
