Tan Chong Motor Holdings Berhad is a Malaysian auto dealer and automaker based in Kuala Lumpur .

history

The company was founded in 1972. The predecessor company Tan Chong & Co. had been the sole representative for Nissan and Datsun in Malaysia since 1957. Tan Chong Motor Holdings has been listed on the Kuala Lumpur stock exchange since 1974 .

It has two assembly plants in Segambut (Kuala Lumpur) (since 1976) and Serendah (Selangor) (since 2007).

Nissan Diesel trucks and buses have been manufactured since 1977. In 1994 the Nissan C22 Vanette began to be exported to other Asian countries such as Papua New Guinea , Brunei , Fiji and Bangladesh .

In 2003 a framework agreement was signed with Renault . The Renault Kangoo has been assembled by Renault as the first CKD kit in the ASEAN area since 2014 and is supplied by the subsidiary Tan Chong Euro Cars Sdn. Bhd. expelled.

The Nissan Latio has been assembled there since the opening of the second plant in Serendah .

In 2013, another plant was opened in Đà Nẵng, Vietnam, to assemble the Nissan Sunny , after having acquired a majority stake in Nissan Vietnam Co Ltd. in 2010 . took place.
