Tancheng

Tancheng ( Chinese  郯城县 , Pinyin Tánchéng Xiàn ) is a district in the east Chinese province of Shandong . It belongs to the administrative area of ​​the prefecture-level city of Linyi . Tancheng has an area of ​​1,307 km² and a population of 970,000. Its main town is the large community Tancheng ( 郯城 镇 ).

The site of the ancient capital of Tan State (Tanguo gucheng ( 郯 国 故城 )) has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (6-119) since 2006 .

The site of the seismically active Maipo fault in Tancheng is located in Maipo Village ( 麦 坡村 ), one of the forty-eight villages in Gaofengtou Municipality ( 高峰 头镇 ).
