Tando Muhammad Khan District is an administrative district in Pakistan in Sindh Province . The seat of the district administration is the city of the same name Tando Muhammad Khan .

The district has an area of ​​1734 km² and according to the 2017 census 677,228 inhabitants. The population density is 391 inhabitants / km². The Sindhi language is spoken by the majority in the district .

location

The district is located in the south of Sindh Province, which is located in southeastern Pakistan. Tando Muhammad Khan is located east of the mega city of Karachi .

Demographics

Between 1998 and 2017 the population grew by 2.31% annually. Around 18% of the population live in urban regions and around 82% in rural regions. There are 350,010 men, 327,202 women and 16 transgender people living in 131,565 households , which results in a gender ratio of 107 men per 100 women and thus a common surplus of men for Pakistan.

The literacy rate in 2014/15 among the population over 10 years of age was 30% (women: 21%, men: 39%), making it the lowest in the province of Sindh.
