Tanesia Jodi Vassell (born July 15, 1981 in Stony Hill ) is a Jamaican national soccer player.

Life

Vassell attended Dunrobin High School in Kingston and graduated from here in 1999. In 2009 she left her home country and began studying at Western Texas College in the USA, which she successfully completed in spring 2011.

Soccer career

In the club

Vassell started her career in her hometown with STONY Hill FC. She played for her club at Stony Hill until the spring of 1999, before joining Harbor View United. After the stint at Harbor View United in her home country, where she became champions in the 2006/07 season, she went to Western Texas College in August 2009, where she played for the WTC Westerners in NJCAA Region 5. She was a regular player in her three years and went to Holland to join FC Twente Enschede after graduating in spring 2011 . In April, after only two months at FC Twente, she returned to the USA and signed with FC Indiana in the USL W-League . She played for half a year for Indiana and was only used sporadically in the W-League, which is why she returned to Jamaica in November 2011. Since then she has played again in the highest Jamaican women's league for Harbor View United .

National team

Vassell has been a senior player for the Jamaican women's national soccer team since 2006 and is currently the team captain . She has appeared for the team 27 times so far and scored two goals.
