Tania Head

Tania Head (born July 31, 1973 ) is the co-founder and president of the World Trade Center Survivors' Network. She had to leave the organization at the end of September 2007 because the credibility of her survival story in the context of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 was questioned.

Tania Head claimed she was on the 78th floor of the South Tower of the World Trade Center when Flight United Airlines Flight 175 flew right into her floor. She would have been one of only 19 survivors on this floor including the levels above. She also alleged that her fiance or husband, Dave, worked in the north tower and perished there.

Tania Head has given many moving talks about her supposedly personal 9/11 experience. She was also active at the Ground Zero visitor center .

In September 2007, the New York Times published an article that seriously questioned its credibility. Dave's family said that they had never heard from her or found relevant documents on the deceased. The firm Merrill Lynch , for which they pretended, said to have worked in the World Trade Center that a Tania Head was not employed by them. She also claimed to have a degree from Harvard University but it was not endorsed by the university. According to a report in the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia , her name was also wrong; she comes from Barcelona and has the maiden name Alicia Esteve Head.

In February 2008, an email from a Spanish account reached the mailboxes of the 500 members of the WTCSN alleging that Tania Head had committed suicide.

However, Tania Head was seen and filmed on a street in New York on September 14, 2011.
