Tanji is a town in the West African state of Gambia .
According to a calculation for 2013, there are around 6,690 inhabitants, the result of the last published census from 1993 was 4,623.
geography
Tanji in the West Coast Region Kombo South District lies on the Atlantic coast. The place, whose economy lives mainly from fishing , has a well-known museum in which the traditional craftsmanship is exhibited by artists and craftsmen. The Tanji Bird Reserve , located on the Tanji River , is three kilometers from Tanji.
