Tanjung Piai is a cape in Malaysia and the southernmost point of mainland Asia . It is located in the Pontian district of Johor state .

Tanjung Piai is located on the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula west of Singapore and about 35 km as the crow flies southwest of Johor Bahru . To the west is the southeast end of the Strait of Malacca , to the southeast is the entrance to the Strait of Singapore, and to the northeast is the entrance to the Strait of Johor .

The Cape is embedded in the 1971 furnished 926 hectares large National Park Tanjung Piai , the mostly of mangrove forests there.
