Tanner Paul Leissner (born September 17, 1995 ) is an American basketball player .

career

Born in San Antonio , Texas , Leissner played basketball as a student at Judson High School in the San Antonio area of Converse . From 2014 he continued his career at the University of New Hampshire (first NCAA division) and was promptly a regular player in his first year , when he was included in the starting line-up 27 times in 28 appearances in the 2014/15 season and around 32 minutes of playing time per batch. With an average of 12.8 points per match, Leissner was promptly the best scorer in his team as a newcomer.

In the following years he steadily increased his points, his best mark in this respect he reached in his final game year 2017/18, when he averaged 18.7 points per game. Leissner finished his time at the University of New Hampshire with impressive numbers: within four years he played 121 games and was among the "top five" in 119 encounters, he scored an average of 16.2 points as a college player, hit 107 three-point throws ( in 339 attempts) and also got 7.1 rebounds per game. When he left the university at the end of the 2017/18 season, Leissner was in first place in several categories of the team's "eternal best list": Among other things, the points scored (1872), the minutes played (3909) and in free throws scored (510). With a total of 841 rebounds, he took third place in the best list.

Leissner signed his first contract as a professional basketball player in September 2018 with the German second division club Ehingen / Urspring . With an average of 16.3 points per match, he was the best Ehingen basket shooter in the 2018/19 season. His good performance in the second division earned him a contract with Bundesliga club MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg , which he signed during the 2019 summer break.

At the end of July 2020, he was signed by the Turkish first division club Afyon Basketbol .
