The Tanzilla River is an orographic right tributary of the Stikine River in the northwest of the Canadian province of British Columbia .

The river rises 40 km southeast of Dease Lake at an altitude of about 1700  m on the Tanzilla Plateau , part of the Stikine Plateau . The Tanzilla River initially flows in a northwest direction to Dease Lake, where it turns west-southwest, and later turns southwest. The British Columbia Highway 37 leads 6 km along the river. The Telegraph Creek Road between the towns of Telegraph Creek and Dease Lake extends west of Dease Lake along the lower river. The Tanzilla River finally flows into the Stikine River 50 km southwest of Dease Lake. The estuary is in the area of ​​the Grand Canyon of the Stikine .

The Tanzilla River has a length of about 120 km. It drains an area of ​​approximately 1800 km². The mean discharge 25 km above the estuary in 1965 was 13.7 m³ / s. The highest monthly discharge usually occurs in June and is around 65 m³ / s (water level data 1959/1966).
