geography
Together with the headland of Pangaimotu ( Moaingatu ) and its smaller sister Afo in the north, Tapana forms its own small lagoon east of the center of Vavaʻu . The island forms the southern edge of the lagoon with Hinakauea Beach . To the west is Kapa .
The Motu Lautala , Nukulahanga , Fanuatapu and Fafina join to the south and east . The reef curves to the southwest, where it ends at the Taunga archipelago .
climate
The climate is tropical hot, but is tempered by constantly blowing winds. Just like the other islands of the Vavaʻu group, Tapana is occasionally hit by cyclones .
