The Tarangire is a river that flows through the Tarangire National Park in northern Tanzania in East Africa . It carries water all year round and is the main source of water in the region, especially in the dry season .

The river shapes the landscape and wildlife of Tarangire National Park. There is grassland and open tree savannah on both sides of the water . From July to October, the Tarangire attracts large herds of, for example, elephants , antelopes , zebras , buffalo or wildebeest from the surrounding regions and protected areas , who are in search of water.
