Tarsicius Jan van Bavel
Tarsicius Jan van Bavel OSA (born June 7, 1923 in Tilburg , † July 28, 2007 in Leuven ) was a Dutch Roman Catholic theologian.
Life
He entered the Augustinian order on September 9, 1941 and made his solemn profession in Ghent on October 6, 1945 , and was ordained a priest on April 4, 1948. Under the direction of Othmar Perler , he received his doctorate in theology at the University of Friborg in 1954 with a dissertation entitled Recherches sur la christologie de Saint Augustin. LP humain et le divin dans le Christ apres Saint Augustin . He was Professor of Christology and Patrology at the KU Leuven and Director of the Augustinian Historical Institute in Heverlee .
