Tartufo di Pizzo is an Italian ice cream specialty that is modeled on truffle pralines and has its place of origin in Pizzo (Calabria) . It bears the designation of origin Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) . The name is based on the Italian word for truffle .

The traditional Tartufo ice cream is made from nut and chocolate ice cream, which is filled with a chocolate sauce (then it is wrapped up and placed in the freezer) and rolled in a mixture of cocoa powder and sugar before serving.

Tartufo is now available in numerous variations, including Tartufo Cioccolato made from chocolate ice cream and Tartufo Mocha made from mocha ice cream . In restaurants, besides cocoa, it is also often garnished with chocolate sauce , cream, fruit, chocolate sprinkles or eggnog . A filling with cherry liqueur is also widespread.

Tartufo is also offered as a chilled dessert without ice. There is loose chocolate mousse on sponge cake and is also sprinkled with cocoa powder.
