  • 1981 Finnish Kart Championship (85 cm³ mini class). The opening race in Lahti was won by Rinne ahead of Häkkinen and the rest of the season saw this couple fight very hard fights. At the end of the third year of the championship, Rinne could only be runner-up, this time behind Häkkinen, after all, ahead of Mika Rinta-Jaskari . At the first race in Lappeenranta he was defeated not only by Rinne but also by another young girl, Ninna Österholm. These two girls should give him some more headaches in the coming season.
  • 1982 Finnish Kart Championship (85 cm³ mini class). Taru Rinne wins ahead of Mika Häkkinen and Ninna Österholm.
  • 1983 Finnish Kart Championship (100 cm³ Formula Nordic class). Taru Rinne wins the championship, but her most recent win is denied for banned fuel. She is disqualified from racing for a year and relegated to fourth place in the championship. Mika is declared the winner, Jukka Savolainen for second and Timo Palenius for third. Because of this decision, she turned her back on karting and only started racing on four wheels 15 years later. She begins to ride motorcycle road races on international racetracks. In the European Junior Team Championship in Horrem , Germany, she won ahead of France and West Germany with Mika, Marko Mankonen and Janne Nyman .

Motorcycle world championship

  • In 1988 Taru Rinne was 14th in the 125 cm³ class at the Paul Ricard Circuit and got two championship points.
  • In 1989 she was second in training with her Honda at the 125cc German Grand Prix in Hockenheim , but only finished seventh after having been third for a long time. This was her best placement when she had a serious accident at Paul Ricard. Bernie Ecclestone , who controlled GP sport at the time, withdrew her permission to start for the coming season. This ended her career at an all-time high. This experience was the greatest disappointment of her life.
