Tarzan is a 57-part US television series produced by the National Broadcasting Company from 1966 to 1968 . Unlike the classic Tarzan, the protagonist appears here as a well-trained jungle expert who, after years of civilization, returned to the jungle, the place of his homeland. In addition, the classic elements can also be found, such as Cheeta . The series was first broadcast on ZDF from January 2, 1971 to December 4, 1971 as a 47-part series on Saturday evenings at 5:45 p.m.

The Earl of Greystoke grew up in the jungle. After years of civilization, he returns to the jungle to take care of wildlife and to find a balance between humans and animals. So he can act in both worlds and speaks the language of animals as well as humans. His best animal friend is Cheeta, his best human friend the orphan Jai. The erotic element in the form of Jane Porter is completely absent.
