Julie Harris
Julia Ann "Julie" Harris (born December 2, 1925 in Grosse Pointe Park , Wayne County , Michigan ; † August 24, 2013 in West Chatham , Massachusetts ) was an American actress .
Life
As the daughter of a banker, Julie Harris learned her trade at the renowned Yale Drama School. Harris was the first woman to receive a scholarship for this school (the second was her future fellow actor and friend, Joan Van Ark ). They also visited the Actors Studio and belonged to the generation of actors who by Lee Strasberg , the Method Acting learned.
After completing her acting training with flying colors, it wasn't particularly difficult for Julie Harris to get engagements - she was known in professional circles as extremely talented, flexible and energetic. In addition, she interpreted her role profiles, regardless of whether they were major or minor roles, subtly and always with “depth”.
