It rises 3.65 km south of Mount Quandary , 5.75 km northwest of Reselets Peak and 9.9 km east of the Sekirna Spur . It is part of the watershed between the Hektoria Glacier in the west and the Breniza Glacier in the east.
British scientists mapped it in 1978. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in 2013 after Christo Tatarchev (1869–1952), leader of the Inner Macedonian Revolutionary Organization .
