Tatyana Ivanovna Saslawskaja ( Russian Татьяна Ивановна Заславская ; born September 9, 1927 in Kiev ; † August 23, 2013 in Moscow ) was a professor of sociology and opinion pollster .

In August 1983 she gave a lecture at the Siberian Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Akademgorodok in which she designed a program of profound social, political and economic reforms, perestroika , along with the supplementary term glasnost . These terms coined by her were adopted and implemented a little later by the new General Secretary of the CPSU, Mikhail Gorbachev .

She was the head of the polling institute WZIOM and in 2000 received the Demidov Prize of the Russian Academy of Sciences . She was a foreign member of the Polish Academy of Sciences .
