Font of the Walpurgis Church (Alsfeld)
The baptismal font of the Walpurgis Church in Alsfeld , a town in the Vogelsberg district in Hesse , was created in the 11th or 12th century. He is in the choir of the Walpurgis Church .
The Romanesque baptismal font with a circular basin is divided into six fields on the outer wall by a round arched arcature , in which there are reliefs with scenes from the life of Christ such as the Annunciation and the Adoration of the Magi . Fish-like mythical creatures adorn the base of the font. An inscription can be seen on the upper edge of the pool, which is only partially preserved.
