Tauno Johannes Luiro (born February 24, 1932 in Rovaniemi ; † October 29, 1955 there ) was a Finnish ski jumper .

Luiro, who started for the Ounasvaaran Hiihtoseura , jumped a world record on March 2, 1951 with 139 m in Oberstdorf . This lasted until 1961. In 1951 Luiro became the first ski jumper who did not come from Norway and was able to win the jumping on the Holmenkollbakken in Oslo .

At the Olympic Winter Games in Oslo in 1952 , he was 18th on the large hill. Then he finished 4th in the overall ranking at the 1952 ski flying week in Oberstdorf. On October 29, 1955, Luiro , who had been suffering from diabetes mellitus for years, died of pulmonary tuberculosis in his home town of Rovaniemi.
