List of rose varieties |
The cultivated rose Tausendschön (also Thousand Beauties or Beauty Thousand ) was introduced in Germany in 1906 by the breeders Schmidt and Kiese. It is the result of a cross between the varieties ' Daniel Lacombe ' and ' Weißer Prumstreicher ' and belongs to the multiflora Rambler group .
'Tausendschön' blooms once in spring with manifold flowers, the flowers are pink with lightening towards the center of the flower and fade with age. The rose has no or almost no spines, a glossy leaf green, has a delicate musky scent and can reach a height of up to 5 m; to do this, however, she needs appropriate climbing aids . It is hardy to a limited extent and needs frost protection in exposed locations .
There are two varieties of rose:
- ' White Tausendschön ' with white flowers
- ' Roserie ' with pink flowers throughout
There is a risk of confusion with the ' Seven Sisters ' variety .
