Tavola (unit)

The tavola was an Italian square measure of different sizes.

Its distribution was for example in the Kingdom of Sardinia , Milan , Modena , Bologna , Florence , Turin , Bergamo , Venice and Verona (cities in the Lombard-Venetian Kingdom). The measure was the square pertica, the square rod . In Piedmont it was about 38 square meters , and 100 units of tavola of this size corresponded to a giornata, the daily work.

  • Bergamo: 1 tavola = 4 square cavezzi = 259 13/25 Parisian square feet = 27 2/5 square meters
  • Padua : 1 tavola = 4 square cavezzi = 243 1/2 Parisian square feet = 25 7/10 square meters

    • 72 tavola = 1 biolca
  • Turin: 1 tavola = 360 1/8 Parisian square feet = 38.00959 square meters
  • Verona: 1 tavola = 39 3/5 Parisian square feet = 4 1/3 square meters
