Taxakapelle (Au near Bad Aibling)
The taxa chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary is located in Au near Bad Aibling in Upper Bavaria . It belongs to the municipality of Bad Feilnbach and lies on Aubach east of St. Martin's Church in the Heubergstr. 9.
history
The taxa chapel was created as a votive foundation based on a vow. The first wooden chapel was built in 1647; In 1649/50 it was performed in stone and consecrated in 1657. Due to the increasing pilgrimage, a fundamental redesign was carried out in 1748 by the master builder Philipp Millauer . It is a small building, closed on three sides, with a blind arch structure . The ridge tower is crowned with a dome . In the cap vaults there are frescoes from the life of St. Elizabeth with the visitation and the birth of John the Baptist . The altar painting depicts the “Visitation of the Virgin”, the side figures depicts the hll. Sebastian and Leonhard .
