Tea Karvinen

Téa Karvinen (also Te'a Karvinen ) (born September 26, 1966 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish skeleton pilot .

Téa Karvinen lives in Kuusamo and works as a press photographer. She started skeleton in 2001 and has been part of the Finnish national team since that year. Karvinen made his debut in November 2001 as 17th in a race in the framework of the Skeleton European Cup in Winterberg . The Finn achieved her first top ten result in an international race a year later when she finished fifth in a race of the Skeleton America's Cup in Lake Placid . In 2003 she started for the first time in a skeleton world championship and was 19 in Nagano . In November 2003 Karvinen made her debut in Calgary in the skeleton world cup and finished 23rd. Her best result in this competition she reached in 2004 as 20th in Sigulda . The European championship 2004 in Altenberg finished the Finn in 12th, the World Cup in 23rd. At the next EM , again in Altenberg, Karvinen was 15th. In the following seasons she started mainly in the Europe and America's Cup as well as in the Challenge Cup , since 2007 also in the newly created Skeleton Intercontinental Cup . It wasn't until 2008 that it started again at a major event. In Altenberg, Karvinen finished 26th in their third world championship. She ended her career in skeleton in 2009.
