The Teøyane ( Norwegian for tea islands ) are a group of three small islands ( Kita-Teøya , Higasi-Teøya and Nisi-Teøya ) and some reef rocks off the Prince Harald coast of Queen Maud Land . They belong to the Flatvær archipelago and are located immediately south of Ongul Island on the east side of the entrance to Lützow Holm Bay .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named them, mapped the three main islands using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 . The entire group was captured by Japanese Antarctic expeditions between 1957 and 1962 .
