Flatvær (translated from Norwegian Flat Islands; Japanese オ ン グ ル 諸島 Ongul-shotō, Kunrei system Ongul Syotô ) are a group of small islands off the Prince Harald coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . They are on the east side of the entrance to Lützow-Holm-Bucht . The largest island in the group is Ongul Island . Other islands are Utholmen , Meholmen , Nesøya , Teøyane and East Ongul Island .
Norwegian cartographers, who also named them descriptively, mapped them using aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 .
