List of rose varieties |
The rose variety Teasing Georgia , syn. 'AUSbaker' is an intensely yellow colored so-called - English rose , which was introduced by David Austin in 1998. It is a descendant of the Rose Charles Austin, also bred by David Austin in 1975 . It was named after German journalist Georgia Tornow . The television journalist and presenter Ulrich Meyer , with whom she has been married since 1995, gave her the newly bred rose for her 50th birthday.
education
The bowl-shaped, quarter-filled flower rosettes smell like a tea rose . The inner petals form an intense lemon to honey yellow colored peel, while the marginal leaves are only pale yellow. Later the colors fade to pink, cream and pale yellow. The up to 9 cm large flowers appear in small clusters on slightly overhanging branches.
The 'Teasing Georgia' forms a sturdy, bushy shrub. In Central European latitudes, the rose is about 1.20 m high and 1 m wide and is also suitable as a climbing rose on a trellis or rose arch. The frequently blooming shrub rose is hardy and resistant to diseases. The elegant shrub rose is suitable for planting cottage gardens , formal gardens and flower borders.
Awards
At the rose novelty examination of the Royal National Rose Society in 2000, the rose received the Henry Edland Medal for the best scented rose. In 2012, it was also awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit .
