The Technischen Werke Schussental GmbH & Co. KG (TWS) is a company that supplies electricity, natural gas, heat and drinking water from the Ravensburg district.

In addition, TWS are service providers for parking, public transport and swimming pools. The company invests in renewable energies, offers its customers exclusively green electricity and develops products and business areas in terms of climate and environmental protection.

history

The company emerged in 2001 from the two municipal utilities of the cities of Ravensburg and Weingarten . EnBW was also involved as a partner. In 2006, TWS Netz GmbH was founded as a subsidiary.

On January 1, 2011, the power grid of the cities of Ravensburg and Weingarten, leased by EnBW since 2008, was incorporated into TWS Netz GmbH. In addition to the electricity network, TWS Netz GmbH also operates a network for gas and drinking water.

Since 2012, TWS has held a 33.3% stake in TeleData GmbH from Friedrichshafen . The products of the regional telecommunications provider include Internet, telephony, data center solutions and cloud products, as well as free WiFi for municipalities. The focus of the investment is on expanding the infrastructure - especially the fiber optic network - in Ravensburg and Weingarten.

Green electricity

The TWS only offers green electricity. At the same time, TWS invests in its own wind power and solar systems.

gas

twsBiogas 10 is a natural gas product from TWS.

With the use of twsKlimagasPlus, the rewetting of Upper Swabian moors is supported and the CO 2 emissions from own consumption are neutralized via emission certificates.

water

The TWS supplies around 69,000 citizens in Ravensburg, Eschach and Weingarten with drinking water from regional sources.

Public transport

TWS primarily provides commercial and administrative services in local public transport.

Customers are the Stadtbus Ravensburg Weingarten GmbH and the transport association (bodo). Bodo comprises the bus and line network in the Ravensburg district and in the Lake Constance district.

Parking

TWS operates multi-storey car parks for Stadtwerke Ravensburg.

Pools and ice rink

In 2005, TWS coordinated the renovation of the Ravensburg indoor swimming pool, which was built in 1964, and operates the Flappachbad Ravensburg and the Ravensburg ice rink .

Sustainable power generation

TWS operates its own wind power and solar plants in five federal states. In 2017, the company's systems fed around 68 million kilowatt hours of energy into the supply networks.
