The Dortmund Technology Park has existed since 1985 and offers around 10,000 employees a job. It is home to around 300 companies, including a. two Fraunhofer institutes and the automotive electronics supplier and semiconductor manufacturer Elmos Semiconductor AG .

The nucleus of the park is the TechnologieZentrumDortmund (TZDO), founded in 1984, in which a child and youth technology center was set up in 2007 (KITZ.do).

Location and connection

The park is in the immediate vicinity of the Technical University of Dortmund between the districts of Dorstfeld and Barop on the A 40 and therefore also close to the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences . There is a direct connection to the north and south campuses of the university via the H-Bahn . Another public transport connection is the S-Bahn line 1, which connects the park via the Dortmund University stop with Dortmund Central Station , as well as with various universities such as the Ruhr University Bochum , the University of Duisburg-Essen and Heinrich-Heine -University of Düsseldorf connects.
