The Tecnica Group is an Italian holding company . The group of companies includes the sporting goods manufacturers Tecnica , Nordica , Blizzard , Lowa , Nitro Snowboards , Rollerblade , T-Shoes, and Moonboot .
history
Tecnica produced work and mountain shoes in 1960. In 1973 the first synthetic ski boot named Tecnicus was introduced. In the 1980s, Tecnica was the market leader in après ski boots. In 1985 the product range was expanded to include an outdoor collection. In 1989 the range was further expanded with the takeover of the Think Pink company.
In 1993 the ski and hiking shoe manufacturer Lowa was integrated into the Tecnica Group. In 1998 Tecnica became the third largest winter sports group in the world through the purchase of the Dolomite company .
Hotform and Rapid Acess are two brands of the group that were launched in 2002. In 2003, Tecnica became the largest winter sports group with the purchase of Nordica .
The Austrian ski brand Blizzard has been part of the group since October 2006 . The takeover included not only the trademark rights to Blizzard Ski, but also the ski manufacturer's production facilities. Since 2007, all of the Group's skis have been manufactured in their own factory in Mittersill.

Tecnica
Under the brand name Tecnica mainly ski boots are produced and sold, as well as sports and running shoes as well as winter shoes.
Nordica
The Italian company Nordica has been part of the Tecnica Group since 2003 . Nordica specializes in the development, production and sale of ski boots and skis.
Blizzard
Blizzard has been part of the group since 2006 and has been supported in the Tecnica Group sales network since the takeover. Product coordination between Tecnica ski boots and Blizzard skis is becoming increasingly clear.
Lowa
The Tecnica Group has been the majority shareholder in the German sports and mountain shoe manufacturer Lowa since 1993 .
Nitro snowboards
The US subsidiary Nitro Snowboards produces snowboards and winter sports articles.
Moonboot
An invention of the company founder Giancarlo Zanatta are winter boots, which are very much based on the original design of the astronaut shoes of the first moon landing. According to information from the group, around 24 million pairs of these shoes have been sold since their market launch in the 1960s.
Dolomite (formerly)
Dolomite is an Italian company that specializes in winter sports. The company was founded in 1897. The company is based in Treviso . Dolomite outdoor shoes and sportswear produced in the Tecnica Group were distributed in Germany by Lowa Sportschuhe GmbH.
In 2015, Dolomite was taken over by Scott Sports .
