Tedbury

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tedbury , also called Tjedboro († January 1, 1810 ), was a fighter against the British colonization of Australia . He was the son of Pemulwuy , one of the most famous leaders of the resistance of the Aborigines in the area of Sydney , with whom he fought together until his death in the year 1802nd

Between 1804 and 1809, Tedbury attacked various farms in what is now Sydney, setting fire to buildings and stealing sheep. In 1808, the then Governor William Bligh put him under military arrest. Thereupon Tedbury went armed with spears to the country house of John Macarthur near Sydney and wanted to kill him. The following year he was involved in a road robbery and assault on a settler on the Georges River . Tedbury was shot at Parramatta in 1810 and died of the consequences.

He was married and presumably had a son named Tommy Dadbury.
