As a settlement, Teiche belongs to the Bad Berleburg district of Christianseck in the Siegen-Wittgenstein district .
Geographical location
Ponds is located on a high plateau at an altitude of about 600 m above sea level. NHN , embedded in the Wittgensteiner Land in the Sauerland-Rothaargebirge nature park . The area is also called Wittgenstein Switzerland .

history
The settlement began in 1708. The densely wooded areas were to be reclaimed for agricultural use by order of the Wittgenstein Counts. The first known of these colonists was Hans Wilhelm Marburger from Elsoff . The main source of income for making a living was charcoal burning. In addition, a small farm was operated.
Like the neighboring settlements in 1732, Teiche belonged to the Elsoffer quarter and the Amte Richstein. In 1819 the district of Elsoff became a part of the mayor. In 1819 there are 2 houses in Teiche.
