A spatula is a kitchen tool for distributing doughs , creams , pastes and other viscous products. It is mostly used to smoothly spread masses evenly on tarts or cakes , for example to spread and smooth chocolate , gelatine or cream . It is also suitable for completely emptying mixing vessels and clean scraping out of dough mixers.
