Tejen ( Russian Теджен Tedschen ) is a Turkmen oasis town in the Karakum desert . The city is located in the southern province of Ahal .
location
Tejen is located in the south of Turkmenistan, about 200 kilometers east of the Turkmen capital Ashgabat and 60 kilometers north of the border with Iran .
traffic
The most important traffic connection of the oasis city is the expressway M37, which connects the east and the west of the country. Ashgabat can also be reached quickly via the M37. Furthermore, a railway line connects Tejen with the Iranian city of Mashhad .
economy
Tejen is a center for textile and fertilizer production . Tejen is also known for its melons , which are considered to be particularly high-quality and sweet.
