The Telekom Slovenije, dd is a telecommunications company in Slovenia . The company is based in Ljubljana and has been listed as a joint stock company on the Ljubljanska borza since October 2, 2006 . The Telekom Slovenije Group is present in several countries in Southeast Europe and Gibraltar.

history

The company was founded in 1995 after PTT Slovenije split up into the two independent companies Pošta Slovenije and Telekom Slovenije . One year later, Telekom Slovenije established its Internet services company, Slovenija Online . In 1998 Telekom was privatized and converted into a stock corporation.

In the following years the company expanded both in Slovenia and in neighboring countries. The Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) was introduced in 2002 and two years later it had more than 50,000 customers. In 2005 Telekom Slovenije established the subsidiary GVO doo and acquired a total of 75 percent of the shares in Avtenta.si .

In 2006 and 2007, Telekom Slovenije acquired the Macedonian On.net , the Kosovar telecommunications company IPKO and Blic.net from Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as shares in Werdenelecom from Gibraltar , Aneks (Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Albanian Online Service Provider ( today Primo ). In addition, it was listed on Ljubljanska borza in 2006 .

In 2011, the Slovenian mobile network operator Mobitel, founded in 1991, was taken over by Telekom Slovenije and has existed as the company's brand since then.

On August 31, 2013, it became known that the Slovenian state intends to sell its 73 percent stake in Telekom Slovenije.
