Telesphorus from Cosenza
Telesphorus von Cosenza (also Telesforus , Theoloforus , Theolosphorus , unknown dates of life), lived in the late 14th century, at the time of the Western Schism . He probably belonged to the extreme spirituals , the Clarenes .
Like his compatriot Joachim von Fiore, he came from Calabria and wrote a treatise de magnis tribulationibus et statu ecclesiae in the year 1386 based on Joachim's ideas and other prophecy books . Telesphorus was a partisan of French royalty and prophesied the victory of the French king and the rise of a French angelic pope. Heinrich von Langenstein wrote a refutation in 1392, the Telesphorus font was used by Thomas Ebendorfer and Johannes Lichtenberger .
