Telquel
Telquel ( French for "as it is") is a French-language weekly news magazine in Morocco . The first edition was published in 2002. In 2007, the circulation was around 23,000 copies. The place of publication is Casablanca , the editor is Ahmed Benchemsi. The French magazine L'Express acted as a model . Jean-Louis Servan-Schreiber, the brother of its founder Jean-Jacques Servan-Schreiber , is one of the two main shareholders .
The political line of the paper is secularist and critical of the monarchy . Telquel is one of the few media outlets to bring up controversial issues such as sexuality and homophobia . Because of critical reports and comments, several issues of the magazine were confiscated.
The Arabic-speaking counterpart Nichane has existed since 2006 .
