Temora

Temora is a city in New South Wales , Australia . The city with about 4100 inhabitants is located in the agricultural region of Riverina, about 80 km north of Wagga Wagga .

Temora was founded in 1879 during a gold rush , and in the 1880s it had a population of up to 20,000. It has been a separate community since 1891. At the beginning of the 20th century, numerous German immigrants came to Temora.

The place is a railway junction and trading center for agricultural products (wheat) and cattle (cattle, sheep). There is an agricultural and building materials industry in the city.

Temora is the center and administrative seat of the Temora Shire local government area .
