Ruins of a temple in Genainville

The Gallo-Roman temple in Genainville , a French commune in the Val-d'Oise department in the Île-de-France region , was built around 160 AD.

The temple ruins are located on an archaeological site known as the Site des Vaux-de-la-Celle, which is protected as a Monument historique . The temple with a double cella was part of a conciliabulum , a meeting place. Remains of the wall painting were found inside, which reproduced a marble surface. The floors were covered with stone slabs or cement.
