Tender Fury was a California hard rock band that was active in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The only founding member who was in the band to the end was the singer Jack Grisham. The numerous line-up changes also led to several style changes. Each of the three studio albums can be assigned to a different style.

Band history

Tender Fury's founding members included two former members of the hardcore band TSOL : singer Jack Grisham and drummer Todd Barnes. Other founding members were guitarist Daniel Root and bassist Robbie Allen. The style of their first album Tender Fury can not be described as punk , but rather as a rock album . This was produced by Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz .

Garden Of Evil , the second album, is considered by many to be their worst. Jack Grisham also distances himself from it today, saying in an interview that he could not listen to the album if he had to. In addition to the style, the line-up also changed compared to the debut album. Dino Guerrero and Randy Bradbury replaced Todd Barnes and Robbie Allen.

With renewed line-up changes, the style on the last album finally changed to punk . Jack Grisham of TSOL, Randy Bradbury (later of Pennywise ), Frank Agnew ( The Adolescents ) and Josh Freese ( The Vandals ) to Tender Fury can at this time already as punk rock - supergroup called. The musical style at the time was very similar to The Joykiller , the band Jack Grisham formed after Tender Fury broke up in 1994.
