Tengako

Tengako is a peninsula at the northern end of the island of Fongafale in the Atoll of Funafuti in the island state of Tuvalu .

The narrow reef island extends from Fongafale to the northwest. a narrow channel separates it from the island of Amatuku , which is even further north. The Tuvalu Maritime Training Institute is located there . The Tengako Causeway (Te Auala O Tuvalu) runs north on the peninsula and connects the villages of Teone and Lofeagai with the main settlement. At the northern end of the island a coastal gun was placed during World War II (Coastal Gun Berth WW2).
