Teodor Żychliński

Teodor Władysław Bronisław Żychliński (born June 25, 1830 in Johanneshof , † August 25, 1909 in Posen ) was a Polish journalist , genealogist and heraldist .

Life

Żychliński was editor of the "Posener Journal" from 1864-1870 and from 1872 to 1876 of the "Posener Kurier". His outstanding work was The Golden Book of the Polish Nobility , which he published in 31 volumes from 1879 to 1908. It is one of the few Polish nobility encyclopedias, which until the first letter Z has come. In 1869 he was a member of the committee for the construction of the Polish City Theater in Poznan, which was built in 1875.

family

Żychliński came from a noble family of the same name who carried the Szeliga coat of arms . His parents were Teodor Żychliński (* 1764; † 1840) and Eleonora Stablewska, Wappen Oksza (* 1796; † 1838). He was married to Joanna Tekla Kietz (* 1836; † 1913) from Berlin , with whom he had four children, of which only the son Teodor (* 1859; † 1892) survived infancy .
