from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Here, among other things, the Tequila of the Chinaco brand is produced in the varieties Blanco , Reposado and Añejo , which is always mentioned in US American trade magazines as one of the very best tequilas and has already received several awards. The Tequilera La Gonzaleña is listed by the Mexican regulatory authority CRT under the designations NOM 1127 and DOT 110.

history

A hurricane destroyed large parts of the state of Tamaulipas in 1965. The agave plants that survived the hurricane were sold by the then agriculture minister of Tamaulipas, Guillermo González - a grandson of the former president Manuel González (1880–1884) - to the state of Jalisco , which at the time was the only state in Mexico allowed to produce tequila .

Thanks to the tireless efforts of Guillermo González, a few selected communities in four other states - one of them Tamaulipas - were granted the right to produce tequila in the early 1970s. This led to the founding of Tequilera La Gonzaleña, which in 1983 was the first distillery to bring an ultra-premium tequila made from 100% agave to the market.
