Terence McKenna (born November 16, 1946 , † April 3, 2000 ) was an American linguist , author , biologist , consciousness researcher and pioneer of ethnopharmacology . Live and act

As part of his research, he spent a lot of time in the South American rainforest, where he gained experience with many shamanic techniques and mind-changing plants.

The computer program “TimeWaveZero”, which is based on the King Wen sequence of the Chinese I Ching , was co-developed by him and forms the mathematical basis for his novelty theory . According to this theory, this sequence represents the course of the emergence of the new ("novelty") over the centuries.

After several months of medical treatment, McKenna succumbed to a malignant brain tumor on April 3, 2000. He died among his relatives. McKenna was 53 years old and left behind his son Finn and daughter Klea.
